Switch @ Snafu

Was asking through a friend to design this poster, and its got a bit of a story behind the process.

The DJ said he played mostly electro stuff, and was interested in a mix of Justice and Daft Punk style for the poster, with funky colours, geometric shapes and a black background.

My initial idea came from the album Alive by Daft Punk. I then looked around for shapes that I thought would work and found a nice Diamond shape. The bottom of which I used as the main shape, and duplicated, to make into a whole shape.

After a few bashes in Illustrator I thought to myself, no, lets push the boat out a bit, and just use Photoshop for the poster. This is a kinda a milestone for me as I've been neglecting Photoshop for about a year now since being at Uni.

The biggest hassle, suprisingly, was the text at the bottom, I know it ain't perfect, but I kinda like it after all. May edit the sponsors box a bit more tho.

I'm quite pleased with the poster in the end as a whole as it kinda reminds me of something from the 80's, with the retro gradient and the Daft Punk style font.
